 2010

A NEW DECADE DAWNS and with it a change in how we publish the news page. I am so slow at updating it and the months fly by without me writing anything. My memory being bad I then forget the significant dates so to make life more interesting I shall let you know significant events and photos to enjoy.

The summer holidays have started and so as the rain. We are having a summer holiday with no baby puppies which feels quite strange. We do have an older black boy looking for a new home. There is a video of him on our Lochranza puppy pics page. The showing has been busy as is usual in the summer and we are having a pleasant time and the dogs are doing very well.

Two new puppies Lucy and Trent started their fun outings showing. Lucy was a cute darling making onlookers smile at her puppy antics and merry attitude. Trent was typical of his mother, Grace, and took everything in his stride in his own time, also proving to be a delightful little chap. Both puppies were placed 3rd in their first shows in good company.

For some unknown reason we appear to be having a phone stalker who will not leave us alone and leaving impolite messages asking if our dogs are still crated like caged animals....... well anyone who has been here will know our dogs are NEVER crated against their will. We do have a crate in the house but the door is open for them to please themselves. In fact at this moment in time we are sharing our bed with 6 cocker spaniels (we do have a 6ft bed) all of which are sat next to me whilst I type this. You know who you are so please leave us alone, our dogs are our lives and they mean more to us than most human beings. The number in question is a witheld number and for this reason we no longer answer witheld numbers. If you wish to enquire about cockers then please email me from the contact page, you will get a response.

Crufts 2010 photos, cannot believe its 1 year since our last photos were posted. Below Chelsea winning graduate bitch.

Guess what is different about this dog's name..............its Kate and Paul's Lexi. She has JW next to her kennel name, a huge well done to them all a great achievement for their homebred girl. Photo copyright of cockeringles taken at Crufts 2010. Note the 2nd place rosette.

The view from our window during the snow falls in January.

DECEMBER 2009

December the 5th started the month of nicely with our  Lexi (kate & Paul's) winning another best puppy in show at London Cocker Spaniel Club Championship Show. I had the pleasure of showing Chelsea here as Romeo couldn't attend due to Suzie chewing his coat, the little madam. It doesn't seem a year since we were putting up the christmas decorations  and emptying our bank account again.

The snow has fallen, which for us mad dog owners, is time to get the camera out to get those classic doggy photos. They love the snow and can't get enough of it. To see some more photos of the dogs enjoying the snow click HERE. This just shows that show dogs do have normal doggy lives and are allowed to get wet, dirty and scruffy.

NOVEMBER 2009

Bonfire night came and went and the dogs yet again proved their ability to deal with loud bangs, not one of them were bothered. The weather has turned and dark nights are here. Where's a light box when you need it.

OCTOBER 2009

Gosh what a month we all had attending Ulster Cocker where Romeo gained his stud book number along with Chelsea. The highlight of the month though being Kate and Paul's little girl Lexi winning best puppy in show at The Solid Colour Cocker Cocker Spaniel Club Championship Show , brilliant.

SEPTEMBER 2009

Kids back to school and sun shines. Our youngest son has started secondary school now attending the same school as his big brother. The photo below show their first morning together.

The showing continues with a few dogs making their debut, Lochranza Who Loves Ya, Lochranza Oh Susannah and Kate and Paul's new girl Trentshome Sno Business. Lexi is definitely the star attending 3 championship shows getting two 2nds and winning her class at Richmond Championship show under Patricia Bentley.

AUGUST 2009

The school holidays in full swing and as previous years the weather is pretty grim. Its been a hectic few weeks with great friends around us and our children at home beavering away earning themselves some pocket money. The children have once again forgone a holiday due to our animals and we thank them for their patience and assure them we will escape to the sun one day for a well deserved break.

JULY 2009

The busiest month in the show calendar for all dog show enthusiasts. The annual cocker spaniel club championship show arrived and was as usual a fantastic day out with hundreds of cockers with their owners from all over the uk and form foreign shores. All the dogs were gleaming and happy and a great day out was had with the dogs coming away with prize cards. News from afar, Australia that is, Tina Crocker has made up another Australian Champion our delightful red girl Harriet who went to live in Oz with Tina earlier this year. Tina has had a superb run with this girl and has done a wonderful job with this special dog. I know Tina loves her very much and we are delighted for them both.

JUNE 2009

Another birthday, how the years roll by. Liam our other son is 14 on the 16th. He is now 5ft 9in towering above me. News has reached us from Marjut Kakko in Finland (Margate) stating the following "Greetings from Finland.  Rod got ticket (his 8th) at our big cocker spaniel club main show on Saturday :) so now his total record is 8 cc's 2 cacibs (international cc). I am sure you can imagine how happy and proud I am for him " This is brilliant news and we are also very proud of them both. Primrose also gained her stud book number this month which is a goal I wanted to achieve. She has been placed in limit on numerous occasions and I am so thrilled.

It is quite sad to hear this month that Michael Jackson passed away, regardless whether one liked him or not I find it quite sad that someone dies at 50 such a young age really.

Wimbledon is here again time to spend 2 weeks in front of TV, high hopes for Murray this year.

On a funny note it would appear that Facebook has a new game "Farm Town". What is happening to sanity, myself and many other people I know are completely addicted oh well I suppose it is harmless fun, and free.

STOP PRESS : Just received the following from Marjut in Finland brilliant news. Click Rod to see his page on our website.

Briefly from Finland: Rod was first time out at open class and he got his final Finnish CC (his 10th) now he only need to past the field test to become a Finnish champion. At that national all breed championship show he also went to best of breed AND HE WON THE GUNDOG GROUP! !

MAY 2009

May the 2nd and our youngest sons 11th birthday. The lovely puppies are all settling well into their new homes and the photos are coming in, brilliant to see them so happy. The fab weather is great for taking photos of the dogs running free in the fields and garden see the Photo gallery pages Photo Gallery . One page is for the solids and the other is the particolours. The lovely Primrose has been enjoying her days out showing and delighted us and her 4 legged friends by getting her stud book number getting 3rd in a strong limit bitch class. At home she celebrated in her usual style running around the house barking and mischieving. Her best doggy friend is Morse, one of Juliet babies who has taken residence here. She is fascinated with him as is he with her. I think they know they are the same colour :).

APRIL 2009

Another month has come and we are having a chocolate free Easter in our household (in theory). A litter of puppies we had are growing and are keeping us all really busy. Hence a quiet month really. Just chilling and enjoying the children, 2 legged and 4 legged.

MARCH 2009

The month of springtime, my favourite season. For all in dogdem the month of Crufts. We all spend weeks and weeks preparing our dogs for this once a year show and then battle it out against 400 + cocker spaniels. To me it is cocker heaven seeing loads of wonderful cockers from all over the globe. Below are 3 photos of our dogs and our friends dogs whom we bred who got placed.

Romeo VHC in Junior Dog                    Grace VHC in mid limit bitch               Rocky 1st in Good Citizen Class

FEBRUARY 2009

The month of romance and love. Our dogs romantic encounters has led to us having some puppies. See puppy pages and puppy pics for further info. On a sad note, one romance has ended, the one between us and our dearly loved Norbert. After 6 short but happy years he suffered a short illness from which he never recovered, please visit his page by clicking on his name to see what a fab dog he was. We are fortunate to have his offspring and the litter of parti-colours that have just been born are his great grandchildren. I am sure his spirit will live on in these little treasures.

JANUARY 2009

Welcome to 2009 and we would like to wish everyone a 2009 where all dreams come true. Like many a mad dog show exhibitor, myself and my pal Kate spent new years day at a dog show. We had a wonderful day, Kate's new puppy Doris won best puppy in breed and our own Primrose won best of breed then won the gundog group.

This year will probably be much quieter for us and many others in the world of dog showing due to financial situation face d by us all. However I am sure we will still be laughing and thoroughly enjoying the company of our nearest and dearest and good friends. With finances being tight I would like to warn people searching for puppies not to jump in feet first for the cheapest pups around, remember think of the future of the breed and avoid puppy farmers.

DECEMBER 2008

Wishing everyone a merry christmas xxxx. See you all next year.

NOVEMBER 2008

Remember, remember the 5th of November. On the 1st of the month myself, Kate and Paul (of Trentshome Cockers) went to Rotherham Cocker Club open show where Judge Francis Bowmen of Franaille Cocker Spaniels gave Kates young blue girl Chelsea reserve best in show. What a lovely win and a superb rosette was awarded that I am sure will be on show in the Siviter's home as you read this.

OCTOBER 2008

I am a bit late filling in Octobers news, probably because the month has flown. I have to say I am in awe this month, not only have our own dogs held their own but our dearest friends have also had a good month in the showing world. Cheryl and Ian's black & tan dog Rocky won the RDCC at the Gundog Society of Wales. This is another of Piers and Isla's progeny reaching RCC level. Without a doubt we are all so very proud.

SEPTEMBER 2008

As I sit here writing this I am looking around to find Georgia sat on my knee, Nancy in one chair, Isla in the other, Norbert in my clothes basket that is waiting to be carried upstairs and a friends cocker called Harvey laid on my feet. This for me sums up cocker spaniels and I wouldn't give them up for anything. The showing world is fun, but this, for me  is the true meaning of living with cockers.

Back to the world of showing, we are half way through the month and lots to report. Grace won the RBCC at Driffield Champ show, a huge well done to Kate and Paul. Anne and Alan Webster of Asquanne Cockers won their 200th ticket at Darlington champ show. The Asquannes cockers are closely related to our solids and their current 2 show girls share the same father of Abigail and Nancy known as Mr,  kennel name ShCh Asquanne's Gillespie. Our blue boy Romeo won the proplan puppy dog stakes on gundog day at Darlington. Pebbles, Cheryl and Ian's new girl has also had a good month winning Best Puppy In Show at the Isle of White Gundog Club show. It is good to see others enjoying their dogs both at shows and at home.

AUGUST 2008

What a brilliant start to the month, Tina Crocker from Australia has yet again another champion. This time it is a blue roan we bred called Jayzander Lucky Strike aka Beckham. Tina and Jeani Tobler ( Sunlore Cockers) have worked hard with Beckham and deserve this success. Well done Guys. Piers has had good results of late winning a CC at Paignton championship dog show and a CC & BOB at Bournemouth championship dog shows.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Lochranza Calendula (AKA Annie Webster) died suddenly on Tuesday 5th of August 2008.  She was a fabulous pet with a wonderful temperament and directly related too all the recent Lochranza dogs as well as other top cockers out there today.

The weather did not stay dry, yet again another damp school holiday and a stir crazy mum. Thankfully the show days remained mostly dry unlike last year so the wellies stayed in the boot of the car, but one thing I have noticed is that the laughter at the shows recently has made my personal sun shine. It is hard to believe I am ending Augusts notes and setting up Septembers section.        Back to top

JULY 2008

BREAKING NEWS, Gregory has just gained his title in Australia, Tina and the Pencandy team must be so proud, as are we.

Another month has come and gone quickly. July is one of the busiest months in the show calender. The parent club held its championship show which as ever was great fun with Romeo and Piers both winning their classes. There were lots of overseas visitors again whom were delightful and made the day even better. The sun has shone at most of the July shows and as a parent of 2 school age boys I am hoping that August will have some bright, dry days so that they can get outside and play instead of sitting in front of the TV or computers driving me mad !!  Jean & Johns grandaughter, Caitlyn,  has had her 1st birthday this month, I am sure they too feel time has flown. My husband and I also celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary, GOSH that makes me feel old.     Back to top

JUNE 2008

The showing season is now in full swing and Romeo and Rafa have continued to be placed. Our eldest son has celebrated his 13th birthday, quite frightening that time goes so quick. Someone once said that as you get older the years go quicker, how true this is.   Back to top

MAY 2008

Since writing the details below and alot of hard work, Romeo was ready for his first show at Bath. I was very exited to show this little boy and thoroughly enjoyed our first day out. He too appeared very happy and took it all in his stride. To make the day more special we won minor puppy dog class. Kate and Paul aslo had an excellent day with their blue girl, Chelsea taking BPIB, brilliant!! Piers continued to be in the line up and took the RCC.

**************************************

Well we have not updated our website for a few months and things have moved on a changed here as ever.

We have been so busy with family and animals sitting down and having 5 minutes has been rare.

What has happened ? A litter of pups came and went, Crufts came and went, our youngest sons birthday came and went.

The showing season has started and we have started showing 2 new youngsters Rafa ( black) and Chloe (Black & Tan). We will soon be giving them their own pages but in summary both have had an excellent start being placed highly at all levels. We also have another youngster waiting for his coat to calm down called Romeo (blue roan). He currently looks like an exploded mattress but I hope to having him looking like a cocker by the end of the month ( wishful thinking).

Georgia ( L. Posh Socks at Jayzander) has officially retired from showing and now resides on our bed and is enjoying her retirement but little does she know that we might let her have a litter of puppies in the next few months. As long as she can still come to bed I don't think she will mind too much :)
